The Church of Scientology of Los Gatos works to help the neighborhood and improve the community.

Scientology’s founder, L. Ron Hubbard, discovered basic laws of existence that can be applied to improve any person’s life. These axioms and their use are covered in detail in the 857-page Scientology Handbook.

Anyone can come to the church to learn the practical techniques of this handbook and become a Volunteer Minister, able to provide solutions to troubles with studies, interpersonal relationships, marriages, work and much more.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are dedicated to helping their fellow man. Their motto is “SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.”

Mr. Hubbard describes a Scientology Volunteer Minister as:

“...a person who helps his fellow man on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.

“A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well.

“How does a Volunteer Minister accomplish these miracles? Basically, he uses the technology of Scientology to change conditions for the better—for himself, his family, his groups, friends, associates and for mankind.”

With this spirit in mind, Los Gatos Volunteer Ministers began a tradition with the Volunteer Minister Tent—a large, bright yellow tent put up in parks, at fairs and all around town for people to come and find help.

Last year alone, they improved the lives of over a thousand Bay Area residents at locations such as the Santa Clara Fair Grounds and the San Jose Vietnamese community’s New Year’s celebration.

With this huge success and the increased demand for their help, the Los Gatos Volunteer Ministers had to expand their operations to a tent nearly 1,000 square feet in size.

With this new tent the Volunteer Ministers will continue to spread their calming influence into society, bringing real solutions to the problems people experience on a daily basis.
